the Suit of Swords

Reading the cards is tricky.

Yesterday, when the sun was hot and moist against the backs of our necks, I picnic-ed, with Maddie and Forrest and it was nice. Unexpected, but nice.
One of the things we spoke about:
when are we happiest, and what do we drink to make it so?
It seems to me that people just hurt themselves, sometimes, and to no great avail. They are not happy to do this, nor after, when left with their consequence. (Is a consequence a punishment in itself?)
What to do when we spy this occurring? Are we the Knights who ride in on horseback with our shields and swords and fight away the darkness with lightning strokes?
Are we the archers, who dispel evils from afar with our flaming arrows?
And what of the peaceable acts? What can we do to stop the pain without fire or lightning or ferocity? How do we save and protect those we love without annointing ourselves with the blood of our enemies?
Maddie: It is not our job to save people. People should want to help themselves.
Forrest: Surely we should try?
Maddie: Masochists don't want heroes.
(Maddie has a certain affinity with italics)
Forrest: So. That stops us from trying?
Maddie: What do you think, Taylor?
I lie in the grass, slowly dreaming of a crimson sky, and violet drapes for my windows.

Do you know something?
Belle comes home in a week.
My heart grew little wings at the thought, and soared away on the breeze.

As you already know Taylor, i hope you don't feel i am unworth helping as i am sad? For i am trying with all my might with my arrows and swords and lightning strokes!

I hope you are well dear Taylor.

U must be so happy now she is home!
